The answer

It is obligatory to be dutiful to one's parents, treat them kindly, and obey them in what is right, even if they become angry or are disbelievers. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "Give thanks to Me and to your parents; to Me is the final return. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them, but accompany them in this world with kindness." (Quran 31:14-15) And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The Lord's pleasure is in the pleasure of the parent, and the Lord's displeasure is in the displeasure of the parent."
