Is it permissible to consider purchasing with sukuk or charged bank cards as a قبض (possession) of the amount forbidden to be withdrawn in cash from the bank?

Purchasing currencies (exchange) requires mutual possession (spot transaction). A bank check or certified check is considered possession.

A certified check is considered to be in the power of possession due to the significant guarantees surrounding it and the bank's commitment to cover its balance. Whereas an uncertified check is not considered possession due to the possibility of insufficient funds.

If liquidity is unavailable at the bank and the seller cannot withdraw the money with the certified check, then the check is not considered possession; rather, it is a post-dated check. Therefore, it is not permissible to buy currencies, gold, or silver with it. However, it is permissible to buy other goods with it, such as foodstuffs, cars, and houses, because it is considered a sale with deferred payment.

Prepaid bank cards allow the purchase of goods, provided that they are not used to buy items that require mutual possession, such as dollars, gold, and silver, because dealing with them is not considered possession as long as the bank does not have cash liquidity.
