What is the ruling on swearing a false oath to avoid losing a husband's trust and [to prevent] suspicions?

One should avoid conversing with marriageable men unless it is necessary and without being in seclusion. In the case of a false oath, it is preferable to resort to dissimulation (tawriyah). If you swore falsely to preserve your marital relationship, there is no sin upon you if your intention was to maintain the relationship. However, you should not return to such an act and should avoid situations that invite suspicion and doubt.
