What are the limits of obedience to a father when he orders his son to do things that the son does not accept, and which relate to his honor and chastity, or to his basic needs such as disconnecting the phone?

The father is advised to fear Allah, not to accuse his son, to think well of him, to investigate and verify matters, and not to forbid his son what Allah has permitted him under the pretext of righteousness. The son is not obligated to obey his father in cutting off the phone or anything else in which the father has no interest, and which causes the son hardship and difficulty. Not every command given by the father necessitates obedience.

Imam Abu Amr ibn al-Salah defined prohibited disobedience (uquq) as: "Every act that causes significant harm to the parent or someone similar, provided that it is not among the obligatory acts."

The son must be respectful towards his father, and it is forbidden for him to raise his voice at him, even if he is in the right.
