The answer

It is permissible to trade only in pure shares, which are shares of companies engaged in lawful activities that do not involve usury, whether through deposits or borrowing. As for forbidden shares (those with forbidden activities) and mixed shares (those with lawful activities but dealing with usury), trading in them is prohibited. Dealing in options and futures contracts is also forbidden. It is not permissible to assist anyone in dealing with these forbidden shares or contracts, based on the Almighty's saying: ﴿And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.﴾

It is not permissible to profit from predicting the rise or fall of a stock because it is gambling. However, financial analysis and providing a study and report for a fee are permissible if the stock is lawful and the analyst has no connection to the stock's rise or fall. The work of a financial analyst is legitimate and necessary if it encourages investors to invest in lawful companies and warns them against forbidden ones.
