What is the ruling on supplicating and entreating Allah regarding marriage?

Supplication (Du'a) is among the greatest acts of worship, as the servant acknowledges their poverty and need for Allah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Du'a is worship." And Allah Almighty says: (And your Lord said: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you.") A Muslim should ask Allah for whatever they desire, such as asking for a righteous husband or wife, for the predecessors used to ask Allah for everything.
