Did the imams who held the view of performing tayammum for each obligatory prayer base their opinion on the weak hadith narrated from Ibn Abbas, or was their statement an independent juristic reasoning (ijtihad) from them? And is one who issues a fatwa according to the Hanafi school, without mentioning other opinions, sinful?

Each side has its evidence regarding the permissibility of praying more than one obligatory prayer with a single tayammum (dry ablution). Some scholars, such as Imam Ahmad and Abu Hanifa, deem it permissible as long as the tayammum is not invalidated, relying on the general wording of the texts. Conversely, the Malikis and Shafi'is hold that only one obligatory prayer can be performed with it, citing narrations from companions like Ibn Abbas. Al-Bayhaqi acknowledged the absence of an explicit, authentic hadith on this matter from either side. Precaution dictates adopting the view of the majority, which is to pray only one obligatory prayer with a single tayammum.
