How did Aslam narrate directly from the Prophet in this Hadith, and is this Hadith considered disconnected (munqati')?

Al-Bukhari narrates a hadith from Zayd ibn Aslam, from his father, describing Umar's repeated questions to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the revelation of Surat Al-Fath.

His father, Aslam, the freed slave of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, did not live during the time of the incident.

Although this chain of narration (isnad) might outwardly appear to be mursal (lacking a direct link) or munqati' (broken), Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar and others have confirmed its continuous nature for two reasons:

1. The phrasing within the hadith indicates that Umar was the one who narrated the story, and Aslam was constantly in his company. 2. Some narrations of the hadith from Imam Malik, although some are mursal, other narrations from him, from the same imams, came as continuous and supported by a chain (musnad) from Umar. This confirms that Imam Malik sometimes sent hadiths mursal as a precaution, or depending on his activeness.

Based on this, the isnad is continuous and preserved.
