What is the ruling on celebrating the night of the middle of Sha'ban and fasting during it?

No authentic, marfu‘ (attributed to the Prophet) narration has been established regarding the virtue of the night of mid-Sha‘ban. Rather, fragmented reports and weak or fabricated hadiths have been narrated concerning it. It is not prescribed to revive that night, nor to fast its day, nor to single it out with a specific act of worship. If a Muslim performs voluntary prayers on the night of mid-Sha‘ban just as they do on other nights of the year, without any addition or specialization, or if they fast on the fifteenth day of Sha‘ban because it is one of the White Days (Ayyam al-Bid) or coincides with a Monday or Thursday, there is no harm in that, provided they do not believe in a special, unproven virtue for it.
