Will a mother who is psychologically and mentally ill be held accountable for not maintaining ties of kinship with her own mother, knowing that interacting with her causes her nervous breakdowns, and that, based on her doctor's advice, she has isolated herself from her family?

The ties of kinship are of great importance. Allah connects those who maintain them and severs those who cut them. It is not permissible for a person to harm themselves. Maintaining kinship ties is not limited to physical encounters; it also includes communication and similar means. The mother must maintain ties with her mother and the rest of her kin in a way that does not cause harm.
