What is the ruling on dealing with Muslim jinn to obtain information about others?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is impermissible to use jinn to spy on Muslims and uncover their private matters, because religious texts prohibit spying, such as the Almighty’s saying: "And do not spy," and the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not harm Muslims, nor shame them, nor seek out their private matters. For whoever seeks out the private matters of his Muslim brother, Allah will seek out his private matters, and whoever Allah seeks out his private matters, He will expose him even if he is in the privacy of his dwelling."
