How can a son be guided who possesses zeal in forbidding evil, but lacks the jurisprudence (fiqh) of dealing with it, and faces harsh reactions from those around him, especially with his mother's fear for him of being affected by the non-committed environment?

Enjoining good and forbidding evil is among the noblest functions of the Prophets and the best of nations. To teach children this function, theoretical guidance alone is not sufficient; practical training is necessary through role-playing everyday and simulated situations. Videos and stories can be used to discuss wrong behaviors and develop skills to deal with them. Rules should be set for the child when interacting with adults and peers, including: beginning with respect, choosing the appropriate time, gentleness in speech, avoiding direct confrontation, and gracefully withdrawing when necessary with adults. With peers: equality, explaining instead of criticizing, offering alternatives, realism and not rushing, and avoiding quarrels. The child should be taught to learn from mistakes and ask for help, and reinforced when successful in applying these rules.
