Praying in sandals is a recommended , based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Be different from the Jews, for they do not pray in their sandals or their khuff (leather socks)." However, it is prohibited in mosques furnished with carpets or similar materials to prevent their damage or defilement. As for someone in a situation like the questioner, there is no harm in her praying while wearing sandals, whether in a mosque or elsewhere, provided she ensures the cleanliness of her sandals from any impurity before entering the mosque.
