Is separation better, or continuation in a marriage where the wife has only lived with her husband for eight months over ten years, while bearing the responsibility for the children alone?

It is the wife's right that her husband should not be absent from her for more than six months except with her permission. She has the right to seek divorce if she requests his return and he does not come back, or due to clear harm befalling her. However, this does not mean rushing to seek divorce, as it may not be the solution, especially with the presence of children, and divorce has negative effects on them. It is advisable to communicate with the husband and try to persuade him to return or to bring the wife and children to him. Divorce should only be resorted to if its benefit outweighs its harm.
