The form of swearing an oath by Allah Almighty is for a person to say: "I adjure You, O Lord, to do such-and-such." Al-Bara' ibn Malik and other predecessors did this. What is authentically reported in the from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, indicates the permissibility of this, where he said: "Many a disheveled, dust-covered person, wearing two worn garments, driven away from doors, if he were to swear an oath by Allah, Allah would fulfill it for him."
