What is the ruling on working in a shopping mall that sells alcoholic beverages, knowing that I am compelled to do so and do not deal with them?

If the market contains separate shops, some of which sell unlawful (haram) items, then there is no harm in working in shops that do not sell anything unlawful, although it is better to stay away from such places. However, working in the same shop that sells alcohol or other unlawful items is not permissible, due to the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him not sit at a table where wine is being circulated." If you are compelled to work due to need and cannot find any other job, then it is permissible, provided that you do not directly sell alcohol or assist in its sale, and that you denounce the evil in your heart if you cannot denounce it with your tongue. Intoxicants should be called by their Shar'i (Islamic legal) name (khamr).
