The book "Wafāʾ al-Wafāʾ bi Akhbār Dār al-Muṣṭafā" by the author Nūr al-Dīn Abū al-Ḥasan al-Samhūdī (died 911 AH) is a historical book about Madinah al-Munawwarah. In it, the author covered everything related to Madinah al-Munawwarah and the Prophet's Mosque, including its names, virtues, history, and rulings, in addition to chapters on visiting the Prophet, peace be upon him, and its rulings.

However, the book contained doctrinal violations, among them the permissibility of seeking help from the Prophet, peace be upon him, supplicating to him, and seeking intercession and aid from him. These actions are considered major polytheism (shirk akbar).

The author, ʿAlī ibn ʿAbd Allāh al-Samhūdī, grew up in an environment influenced by the Sufis, which impacted his creed and led him to fall into these violations.

The book is beneficial for its historical aspects related to Madinah, but one must be cautious of the doctrinal violations contained within it.
