Does the reward for worship differ between the poor and the rich, given that the poor suffer from what may affect their worship, while the rich are well-off?

Poverty and wealth in themselves do not make a difference in the recompense for worship; rather, the recompense is based on compliance and sincerity. Both the poor and the rich are occupied, and if they perform their worship as required, that does not diminish their recompense. Allah tests His servants with blessings and hardships. The preference between a grateful rich person and a patient poor person depends on piety: "The better of them is the one who is more pious to Allah Almighty." Piety is built upon patience and gratitude, and whoever's patience and gratitude are more perfect is better. In charity, the charity of the one who has little is better than the charity of the rich; because it involves hardship and self-sacrifice, and "a dirham preceded a hundred thousand dirhams" because the owner of two dirhams gave one of them in charity.
