Is it permissible to wish for death or commit suicide due to life's boredom, an abundance of mistakes, and heedlessness?

A believer believes that this worldly life has a great purpose, and that faith in Allah and Islam answer life's fundamental questions: from where (we came from Allah), to where (we return to Him for accountability), why (to worship Allah), and how (by following the divine methodology). Whereas a non-believer views life as futile, which leads them to psychological and behavioral disturbances when calamities strike, unlike the believer who lives in tranquility by remembering Allah, and finds in repentance after error a path to steadfastness and rectitude, for all humans err, and the best of those who err are the repentant.
