Why was Lady Aisha called Humaira'?

"Humaira'" means "the fair-skinned" or "the white." Arabs would refer to white as red due to their dislike of leprosy. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was described by this term in a narration by An-Nasa'i with a sound chain of transmission. The diminutive form used (Humaira') is for honor and endearment. As for the hadith: "Take half of your religion from this Humaira'," it is a fabricated hadith by the consensus of hadith scholars. However, this does not negate the vast knowledge of the Mother of Believers, Aisha, which was attested to by the Companions and their successors.
