Why did Allah favor the Children of Israel over all peoples and send most prophets to them and not to others?

Allah favored the Children of Israel above the worlds in their time, due to the abundance of prophets, callers to truth, and reformers among them. He took a covenant from them to believe in the Last Prophet. The wisdom behind sending most of the prophets to them was their rampant corruption, disobedience, and rebellion, which necessitated extensive reformative efforts among them.
