Is mentioning the virtues of a deceased parent and their good ending considered self-praise that is prohibited by the Almighty’s saying: "So do not assert your piousness; He is most knowing of who is righteous," and does the Hadith: "You are Allah's witnesses on earth" apply to it?

Upon the death of a believer, their virtuous qualities should be mentioned, and prayers should be offered for them. It is not permissible to mention their mistakes. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade reviling the dead and also forbade eulogies that contain exaggeration and incite excessive grief. However, praising the deceased with goodness when mentioning them, or when their funeral procession passes by, or to inform people about them, is permissible, due to his (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "You are Allah's witnesses on earth."
