Is ablution permissible during sunrise or sunset, and is it necessary to interrupt an obligatory prayer if the time of sunset or sunrise occurs while performing it? And is it necessary to renew ablution for Tarawih prayer if it extends past midnight?

First: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade praying and burying the dead during three times: when the sun rises until it has fully risen, when the sun is at its zenith until it declines, and when the sun is setting until it has fully set. Ablution (wudu') is not included in this prohibition because it is not a prayer.

Second: If someone is praying an obligatory prayer and one of these times overtakes them, their prayer is valid if they completed one rak'ah within the time. However, they are sinful if they prolong the prayer until its time has expired.

Third: It is not obligatory to repeat ablution for every prayer unless the ablution is broken. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, prayed the five prayers with a single ablution on the day of the Conquest of Mecca, and this is permissible by scholarly consensus.
