Is it permissible to marry a woman who has experienced postpartum bleeding (nifas) after her bleeding has stopped and she has purified herself, or is it a condition to wait forty days?

Most scholars are of the opinion that the maximum period for post-natal bleeding (nifas) is forty days. If a woman experiences purity before the forty days, she is considered ritually pure, and it is permissible for her husband to engage in intercourse with her. However, if the bleeding returns before the forty days, she is still considered to be in nifas until she completes the forty days. If the intention of "nikah" (marriage) is merely the marriage contract, then it is valid to contract marriage with a pregnant woman immediately after she gives birth.
