What is the authenticity of the detailed supplication of four rak'ahs on the last Wednesday of the month of Safar, and does it have any origin in the Sunnah?

Pessimism regarding Wednesday and the month of Safar are matters of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance) that Islam abolished and rendered shirk (polytheism), because all affairs are in Allah's hands. There is no evidence for pessimism regarding the last Wednesday of Safar, nor is it legislated to pray rak'ahs with a special supplication and a specific belief, as that is an innovation. Asking by the secret of so-and-so or their prestige is not legislated. A Muslim is required to seek refuge with Allah from the hardship of affliction and all evil.
