What is the authenticity of the hadith that mentions praying four rak'ahs on the last Friday of Ramadan with the intention of atonement for missed prayers, and what reward does it entail?

The aforementioned hadith is fabricated and falsely attributed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. It is not permissible to narrate it unless its falsity is made clear, and it is not permissible to publish it.

As for one who intentionally abandons prayer, the fatwa issued by us is that making up the prayers is obligatory. This is the قول الجمهور (view of the majority of scholars), based on the general statement of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Allah's debt is more deserving of being fulfilled."

Therefore, it is obligatory upon you to hasten to make up the prayers you missed, along with repentance and seeking forgiveness. Making up these prayers is incumbent upon you according to your capacity, in a way that does not harm your body or your livelihood, for Allah Almighty says: "So fear Allah as much as you are able."
