Is it permissible to kill someone who embezzled my money, claimed insufficiency of funds, lied, and evaded returning it?

Embezzling people's money is a grave sin, but it is not permissible to kill the embezzler. Their punishment is imprisonment or the like until the money is returned, and killing a soul is one of the greatest major sins. Their case can be reported to the competent authorities, or to secular courts if they restore rights and prevent injustice. It is also permissible to take your right from their money if you come across it.
