Is the recitation of morning and evening remembrances (adhkar) sufficient and beneficial without a strong awareness of their meanings?

Remembrance of Allah (dhikr) with the tongue without the heart's presence is rewarded, but its reward is less than remembrance with the tongue alongside the heart's presence and contemplation of meanings, which is the best type of remembrance. Remembrance with the heart alone is better than remembrance with the tongue alone. And remembrance, both with the tongue and the heart, should be purely for the sake of Allah the Almighty.
