Is it permissible for a breastfeeding woman to combine prayers and break her fast, and what are the consequences for her if she breaks her fast?

A breastfeeding woman is not permitted to combine prayers for the sake of breastfeeding. Rather, she must pray each prayer at its appointed time. However, she may delay the first prayer until the end of its time and perform the second prayer at the beginning of its time.

As for breaking the fast, a breastfeeding woman may break her fast if she fears for herself or for her child. She is only required to make up the days (qada') if she fears for herself or for both of them. However, if she fears only for her child, then she must make up the days (qada'), and the guardian of the infant must feed one poor person for each day.
