What is the ruling concerning Christians who heal the sick in the name of Christ?

Every religious group believes that its deity heals the sick and fulfills needs. Some of these occurrences are a trial and test for people, as happens with the Antichrist and the devils who participate in schemes to entrap people into polytheism. Allah Almighty says: "That He (Allah) might make what the Shaitan (Satan) throws a trial for those in whose hearts is a disease (of hypocrisy and disbelief) and whose hearts are hardened. And verily, the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers, etc.) are in a far-off schism (dissension and disobedience to Allah from the truth)."

One must differentiate between the foregoing and the miracles of the prophets and the wonders of the saints that occur by Allah’s permission, such as healing at the hand of Jesus (peace be upon him) and the boy in the story of the People of the Ditch. It is permissible to seek supplication and intercession from prophets and saints while they are alive and present, just as the blind man sought intercession from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In contrast, it is not permissible to seek supplication from the dead or the absent.
