What is the ruling of Islamic law on a man who swore an oath to his wife by triple divorce that he would marry another woman, and repeated the oath more than once, while being aware of what he was saying and not angry?

The ruling on swearing by divorce is the same as that of conditional divorce. If you intended divorce and did not marry that woman, the divorce takes place according to the consensus of the jurists. If you specified a time for the marriage, the breach occurs upon the expiry of that time without the marriage taking place. If you did not specify a time, the divorce takes place shortly before death. Triple divorce results in three divorces according to the majority of jurists, and one divorce according to Ibn Taymiyyah, and the preponderant opinion for us is that of the majority. It is advisable to consult the competent authorities in personal status matters. It is warned against using divorce as a means to solve problems or threaten the wife. Marrying a second wife is permissible for one who is able to be just, but it should not be used to provoke the wife or stir up problems.
