The answer

Bilal ibn Rabah, also known as Bilal ibn Hamamah, named after his mother, was among the early converts to Islam. He was severely tortured but remained steadfast. Abu Bakr bought and freed him. He was the Mu'azzin (caller to prayer) of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and he only called the Adhan once after the Prophet's death. He passed away at the age of sixty-something years and was buried at Bab al-Saghir. He left no offspring. His wife's name was Halah bint Awf, the sister of Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf.
