What is the ruling on swearing by Allah not to reconcile between two people and then reconciling between them, and what are the consequences of that?

You did well in reconciling people, and you must expiate your broken oath, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If any of you takes an oath and then sees something better than it, let him expiate his oath and do that which is better." The expiation is by feeding ten poor persons or clothing them. If you cannot find them, then fast for three days.
