Must I do household chores after my mother has left the house, and will I be rewarded for that if I intend it as an act of worship?

A son must honor his parents and obey them in what is good, and treat them kindly to the best of his ability, due to their immense right over him, whether he is male or female. If the mother leaves the home, the daughter must strive to meet her father's needs and carry out his commands as long as she is able, and intend thereby obedience to Allah and seeking reward and recompense.
