Is it not better to prohibit playing video games that contain images of animate beings, despite your fatwa permitting them under certain conditions, following the example of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who did not enter a house until a picture was removed from it, and based on his command to obliterate images and his saying: "Indeed, the angels do not enter a house in which there is a picture"?
The preponderant view among us is that video recording is permissible. And since images are permissible, they do not prevent angels from entering the house. This is similar to the permissible dolls for girls, and also to images that are treated with disrespect. This is with the caveat that a Muslim should not waste his time on what does not benefit him. Rather, it is more fitting to utilize time for matters that benefit him and his Ummah, and to abandon permissible amusement and play that is nonetheless blameworthy.
