Does absolute tolerance with people without wisdom expose one to the insults of those with bad manners?

This woman is abusive and disobedient. Be patient with her and advise her gently. If she persists in her abuse, it is permissible to shun her if shunning benefits her or if harm is feared from her. Nevertheless, we advise you to maintain ties with her and forgive her, seeking reward from Allah. This might transform her enmity into friendship, as Allah Almighty says: "And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] with that which is better; then abruptly your enemy will be as if he were a devoted friend. But none is granted it except those who are patient, and none is granted it except one having a great portion [of good]."
