What is the first thing a repentant Muslim youth in a Muslim-majority country should be directed to: Is it mastering creed and memorizing its texts, or increasing faith by maintaining night prayers, dhikr, and contemplating the Quran, or something else? And what was the Prophet's (PBUH) method of nurturing the Companions in their early stages, and what aspects did he focus on in building them?

Repentant youth must perfect their repentance, return to Allah, and abandon their sinful past. Then, they must abound in good deeds and acts of obedience, for Allah Almighty says: (Indeed, good deeds do away with evil deeds). After that, they should associate with the righteous. Dealing with them varies according to their abilities, but the principle is to keep them engaged in righteous work, to nurture them with practical faith, and to have them constantly remember Allah and adhere to the Prophetic manners. Then, academic and doctrinal matters can be introduced gradually. Ibn Majah narrated from Jundub ibn Abdullah who said: (We were with the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, and we were strong young men. So, we learned faith before we learned the Quran, then we learned the Quran, and thereby increased in faith). Ibn Taymiyyah said: "Emptying the heart of what Allah dislikes and filling it with what Allah loves is Islam, which encompasses faith." Nurturing the meanings of faith precedes the study of texts. Then, education should be tailored to each person's situation. It is recommended to study an easy commentary on the Quran, such as "Al-Tafsir Al-Muyassar" and "Tafsir Al-Sa'di," and a simplified explanation of "Riyad al-Salihin," while disseminating doctrinal meanings concurrently.
