Is a woman sinful if she wears a religiously prescribed hijab while uncovering her face and hands, in a tribe where there is frequent intermingling with foreign men such as the paternal cousin and brother-in-law, and she cannot escape this situation?

Scholars have differed regarding the obligation for a woman to cover her face and hands in front of non-mahram men. The preponderant opinion is that covering them is obligatory. A woman must maintain her niqab (face veil) in front of non-mahram men unless she experiences harm, in which case it is permissible to adopt the fatwa of those who permit uncovering the face and hands. Mixing between sexes (ikhtilat) is forbidden, and a woman must observe the شرعية ضوابط (Sharia-compliant regulations) such as hijab, avoiding seclusion (khalwa), not speaking in a soft or alluring tone, and lowering her gaze.
