Is it permissible to kill or poison a harmful cat if it is caught?

If it is possible to reach an understanding with the neighbor to remove the harm caused by the cat, either by confining it, removing it, or killing it, then that must be done. If its harm cannot be repelled except by killing it, then it is permissible to kill it by a comfortable means for it, such as poison or a swift blow.
