Is money obtained by refunding a plane ticket after its cancellation—according to the organization's directives—for the purpose of covering land travel expenses with a mahram, halal or haram? And what should be done if it is haram?

If the organization specifies the amount as a general travel allowance, regardless of the mode of transportation, there is no harm in benefiting from it. However, if the organization disburses the amount based on the actual mode of transportation, it is not permissible to use deception to claim the cost of an airplane ticket. Whoever does so must return the amount to the organization or spend it on charitable causes if returning it is not possible. The organization must be consulted to determine eligibility for the ticket price; otherwise, any amount exceeding the actual cost of travel must be returned.
