In the view of Sharia, what is the value of some fathers' claims that they are raising their children in the best possible way, even though they are not good role models and their morals are bad and un-Islamic?

A father's good example is one of the most important factors for successful upbringing. A child imitates his parents in everything. If a father's actions contradict his words, the child will be corrupted and deviate. However, if the father is a good example, the educational process will succeed. Scholars have highlighted the importance of a person acting upon what he advises others for it to be accepted. Proper upbringing is not just about providing material needs; rather, the foundation is protecting oneself and one's family from the Hellfire by doing what Allah loves and avoiding what displeases Him, for everyone is responsible for those under their care.
