What is the complete story of Satan's impersonation of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, while he was with his Companions?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was indeed seen by Satan. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sought refuge from Satan in his prayer when Satan came to him with a fiery torch to throw it in his face. He cursed him three times and intended to seize him. Were it not for the supplication of Solomon, peace be upon him, Satan would have been tied up, with the children of Medina playing with him. This also occurred when an 'ifrit from among the jinn broke free upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to disrupt his prayer. The Prophet overpowered him and choked him, and intended to tie him to a pillar of the mosque for people to see. However, he remembered the supplication of his brother Solomon, peace be upon him: "My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom such as will not belong to anyone after me," so Allah repelled him disgraced.
