Is it permissible for me to explain my difficult financial situation on social media to ask for help without mentioning my name, knowing that I used to help those in need in the same way, or is that considered a lie?

If the inquirer is among those for whom asking [for help/charity] is permissible, then there is no objection to her explaining her situation to people so that they may assist her, provided she is not untruthful in her description. However, if she is among those for whom asking is not permissible, then she is not allowed to proceed with it. One can refer to Fatwas no. 155815 and 115109 to know for whom asking is permissible and for whom it is not.
