What is the meaning of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "There is no prize except for an arrow, a hoofed animal, or a horse"? And what is meant by "nassl" (arrow), "khuff" (hoofed animal), and "hafir" (horse)?

The aforementioned Hadith is authentic, and its meaning is that prizes and rewards are only permissible in horse and camel races and similar activities, and in archery. This is because these matters are considered part of the preparations for fighting the enemy, and they involve encouragement and incitement to Jihad. As for racing with birds, by foot, or with pigeons, and anything similar that is not part of the preparations for war, taking a prize for it is prohibited gambling and is impermissible. The Hadith emphasizes the importance of competing and engaging in these activities due to their assistance in Jihad.
