Does the reward for reciting the Holy Quran or engaging in Dhikr (such as reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas 100,000 times or Al-Hamd) reach the deceased, or does the reward only reach the reciter, and what reaches the deceased is only supplication for mercy or the recitation of Al-Fatiha?

Supplication (Du'a), charity (Sadaqa), freeing slaves ('Itq), and reciting the Quran—their rewards reach the deceased, and they benefit from them. However, specifying certain surahs for recitation, or believing in their superiority, or gathering with the intention of reciting, or hiring a reciter—all of this has no basis in Islamic law.
