Is the repentance of one who repeatedly commits the same sin, then repents, then returns to the sin again accepted, and what should he do to remain steadfast in his repentance?

If a servant repents with a sincere repentance that fulfills all its conditions (regret, firm resolve not to return to the sin, and immediate cessation), then his repentance is accepted, even if he returns to the sin and then repents again. Allah Almighty says: "And He is the One who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons sins" [Ash-Shura: 25]. And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty accepts the repentance of His servant as long as he has not gasped his last breath (ghargar)." To prevent himself from returning to sins, the servant should distance himself from the footsteps of Satan, places of disobedience, and bad companions, and occupy himself with acts of obedience and remembrance of Allah, and associate with righteous people.
