Why were the awaited Mahdi, the Antichrist (Dajjal), and the descent of the Christ Jesus (peace be upon him) not explicitly mentioned in the Quran? And is their support through Gabriel or merely by inspiration? And are the narrations about them Isra'iliyat? And does denying them expel a Muslim from the faith, even if he utters the two testimonies of faith and performs the pillars of Islam?

The question includes three matters: First: The mention of the Mahdi, the descent of Jesus, the Dajjal, and other signs of the Hour, were reported in the authentic Sunnah, and there was a Quranic reference to some of them, such as the descent of Jesus. Therefore, belief in all of that is obligatory, for the Sunnah has affirmed many matters not mentioned in the Quran, and it is of equal strength to the Quran. Second: The hadiths reported concerning the signs are not from the Israiliyyat (Judeo-Christian traditions), but are authentic. Third: For those who deny them, refer to Fatwa No. 41194.
