Is the saying: "Before religions existed, God created man" authentic?

This statement is false, for Allah Almighty created every human being upon the fitra (primordial nature), which is to believe in Him and submit to Him (Islam). Islam existed before the creation of man, as the angels are Muslims. Adam (peace be upon him) was created by Allah as a Muslim monotheist, and humanity continued upon monotheism until the time of Noah (peace be upon him). This assertion is true for all religions except Islam and monotheism, for the Oneness of Allah precedes everything. The prophetic message came to guide people and teach them the command of their Lord, and were it not for it, ruin would have spread throughout the earth.
