What is the ruling on one who attempted suicide due to psychological disturbances and harsh circumstances, and are there any Quranic religious injunctions to ward off obsessions?

Suicide is one of the gravest sins. Whoever kills himself by any means will be tormented by that same means in Hell, abiding therein eternally. The girl must offer sincere repentance for her suicide attempt, resolve not to return to such an act, and increase in righteous deeds. She must be patient in the face of her father's loss, for every calamity pales in comparison to the calamity of losing the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. She should recite the supplication for affliction. The specter of her father and the whispers of death are from Satan; she must seek refuge in Allah from him, increase in the remembrance of Allah, and keep company with righteous women.
