Where are the angels located?

Angels are in heaven and may descend to Earth for tasks assigned to them. This is indicated by: Al-Tirmidhi's hadith about the creaking of the heavens due to prostrating angels, the hadith in Al-Bukhari and Muslim about Al-Bayt Al-Ma'mur (the Frequented House) where seventy thousand angels pray daily, and Allah’s saying: "And how many an angel is there in the heavens" (Qur’an 53:26), and "He sends down the angels with the inspiration of His command" (Qur’an 16:2), and "We do not send down the angels except with truth" (Qur’an 15:8), and "Say, 'If there were upon the earth angels walking about in peace, We would have sent down to them from the heaven an angel as a messenger'" (Qur’an 17:95).
